BMF Enterprises Internship Program

Requirements:

1. Design skills (Adobe Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks, Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand)
2. Word processing skills (Word document layout, understanding of fonts, styling, etc…)
3. Web savvy (Understanding what the web is and how to navigate and use sites. Knowing what works well when it comes to navigation should be somewhat intuitive)
4. Intelligent (Able to answer questions and possibly interact directly with a client without sounding too sophomoric)
5. Stock photos (Knowing what they are and possibly understanding how to search for them, even knowing a place to get them is a plus)

What you are going to learn:

1. HTML (Base knowledge in how to edit code and how to hand code basic elements, also having an understanding of when to hand-code and when to let the software write your code)
2. CSS (You will gain knowledge in how to create styles and effectively store them within a site. How to prioritize the site’s elements and represent them in a fashion that best shows off the site content)
3. Web Usability (Knowing how to save users time and hold their attention by driving a user to the correct information fast)

By the end of the term you will need to be able to:

1. Convert a Photoshop design into HTML
2. Save the Photoshop HTML as a template in Dreamweaver and add editable regions
3. Build new pages from Dreamweaver template
4. Set up a Contribute account and edit pages with Contribute
5. Download pictures and content from current sites for backup and use in new site
